Formal Suits for Carnegie clients
Tell us the event date and we will plan your fittings around it.
Formal occasions call for a suit that looks considered from across the room and up close. We cut yours to your measurements and finish it with the details you choose.
For Carnegie, a versatile suit in a mid-weight cloth is the most popular first order.
From the south east, a single planned visit covers design and measurements.
Most Carnegie clients make the 9 km trip to 214 Bridge Road twice: once to design and measure, once for the second fitting.
Neighbours in Malvern East, Caulfield and Glen Iris often come in together for group and wedding orders.
Carnegie sits in the City of Glen Eira area, postcode 3163.
We don't hand your garment over until you're happy with the fit. Any adjustments are made by our in-house tailor.

Formal Suits questions
What makes a suit formal?
Usually a darker cloth, cleaner details and sometimes a waistcoat. We will help you choose for your occasion.
Should I choose a three-piece?
A waistcoat adds formality and lets you remove the jacket and still look dressed. It suits many formal events.
Can I wear it to work afterwards?
Yes, if we choose the cloth and details with that in mind.
What if my event is soon?
Tell us the date at your first fitting and we will confirm whether we can meet it.
How many fittings will I need?
Usually two. The first (about 45 minutes) covers design, fabric and measurements. The second happens when the garment arrives, and any final adjustments are made in-house, usually within a week.
What if the fit is not right at the second fitting?
We do not hand your garment over until you are happy with the fit. Our in-house tailor makes the adjustments.
Do you keep my measurements?
Yes. Measurements, patterns and alteration notes are kept on file, which makes repeat orders faster and usually removes the need for multiple fittings.
Do you look after clients from Carnegie?
Yes. Carnegie clients visit our Richmond showroom regularly. Our showroom is on Bridge Road in Richmond. We welcome clients from anywhere in Melbourne and beyond, and once your measurements are on file, reorders are simple wherever you live.
